Five minute tea break - September!
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the summer months. Alfresco dining, long days, making the most of the garden, feel-good sunshine, holidays, chilled white wine, warmth, family time etc. But there is something quite special about September and the beginning of Autumn. Those few days at the end of summer which are still gorgeous but there is a slight coolness to the air, fills me with anticipation.
The start of the new school term means back to school for our children, but it also means a fresh start (with a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils) for us too. We all make plans in January for the year ahead, but the weather is usually awful, it’s dark and we probably plan to do far too much than is actually possible in the twelve months ahead of us. I don’t know about you, but I feel as if the months fly by at such speed that I don’t get to do the many things that I’ve planned.
September allows for a more realistic approach to the last few months of the year. The sun is still shining which makes us all feel better about everything which gives us a more positive outlook for our plans. And with the return to school, after long lazy summer days, we can get our life back into a routine. I also feel as if I should have a new pencil case, notebook and bag!
We now have a couple of months where we can be productive and get those last few tasks ticked off that to-do list for the year, before we start the exciting countdown to Christmas. For me personally the next couple of months is to focus on Christmas products for my shop and to continue with healthy eating and exercise. It's much easier to do this during the summer and not so easy when it’s cold and wet outside and all we want is a hot chocolate and to snuggle on the sofa with a good book.
In honour of the start of the last few months of the year I’m starting a new notebook for my business projects, refreshing the content on my website and planning a few home projects to complete before the weather starts to turn. So, what are you planning on getting done in the last quarter of 2019? Is it work related, or perhaps you want to start a new hobby or take a yoga class? I must admit, I’ve never tried yoga but it is on my list! Wishing you all a super-productive September xx
